Representatives of the Keep Australia Beautiful Council recently visited the Tiwi Islands to assess projects for the Tidy Towns Awards. Bima Wear had not been nominated for the award but while touring the town of Nguiu the judges visited our workshop and were “so impressed” at what they saw they decided to award us the ‘Best Business Project’ Award. This story was relayed to us when we contacted the Keep Australia Beautiful Council to ask how the award had come about. The judges said they just couldn’t deny that “Bima ticked all the boxes”, including “community, cultural, productive and happy at work”. Not bad really for a typical day at work.
